The sharing economy has been rapidly expanding all over the world in the last few years. This growth has presented governments with many issues and challenges regarding taxation and regulation. With this phenomenon now reaching into almost all sectors of the economy, decision makers must keep an open mind and let it develop alongside the traditional economy, while properly responding to issues and challenges as they arise. This workshop will cover various aspects of how public bodies and other stakeholders are interacting with the sharing economy to promote general interest, tax fairness and innovation.
