Room 2 – CREDAF workshop
The Digital Economy in Member Countries
May 15 2019, 10:15 a.m. – noon
Technological advances in developing countries are creating exceptional opportunities for economic growth while laying the groundwork to rethink public services such as education and healthcare and to improve communication between tax authorities and users.
With infrastructure investments, public and private sector involvement and a greater focus on training, digital Africa is flourishing, and many public bodies are banking on the boom to continue.
In this workshop, we’ll look at how the digital economy in Africa is booming right before our eyes and how public bodies, especially tax authorities, can harness it to better integrate people from an economic, financial and tax perspective.
The workshop will include three presentations, followed by a discussion period:
- Evolution of the digital economy in Africa
- Public service opportunities
- A tax authority’s experience
